F1 in Schools is a global competition, with over 17,000 schools across 44 countries involved in the competition each year. In Australia, the competition progresses through regional, state, national, and then international stages.
The competition involves many skills that are required to design, analyse, manufacture, and race a car, like an actual Formula One team. The program helps build essential collaboration, management, presentation, innovation, marketing, and problem-solving skills that may give the participants many more career opportunities later in life.
The competition also gives the participants access to many new types of design and manufacturing technology, such as CAD (Computer Aided Design), CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing), and CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) technology.
